Getting out and enjoying the beautiful Bay Area, as well as enjoying the company of friends old and new, is great for your mental health. Best of SF Standup Comedy

The Purple Onion at Kells, San Francisco

One of the longest running independent comedy shows in America featuring a revolving showcase of SF's best comics every Friday at Kells, home to San Francisco's legendary Purple Onion in the heart of beautiful North Beach. We're easy to get to and an amazing starting point for an unforgettable Friday night in SF.



About the show

Each show features five to six comedians, ranging from SF's best up and coming acts to the occasional drop-in national headliner.


Come early and enjoy some great food and amazing craft drinks at Kells full bar and restaurant. At 8pm, grab your drink and head downstairs for the show!

The show will end by 9:30pm.


We encourage everyone to stick around after the show and party with us at Kells!

The show is for mature audience members of 18+ only unless accompanied by parent.

Is there a drink minimum?

No, there is no drink minimum.

What if I'm late?

Not a problem, just head downstairs whenever you're ready to laugh.

There is free parking on the street but it can be tough to find a spot, there are many public parking garages close by. See your options on Parkopedia.

If the event is sold out, will you have tickets at the door?

We often sell out, so please buy your tickets in advance. If the event is sold out online, we will not have any extra tickets to sell at the door. In that case, please get tickets to the next show!

If I can't make it to the show anymore, will the fees be refunded?

THE SHOW

The Purple Onion is a legendary comedy club in San Francisco that had its heyday in the 1950s and 60s and helped launch the careers of Phyllis Diller, The Smothers Brothers, Lenny Bruce, Woody Allen, and Richard Pryor. Now, a new generation of comedic talent is set to take the stage! From the producers of one of the longest running independent shows in America, comes this comedy tour de force with some of the hottest up and coming acts in the Bay Area!


THE VENUE

Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub in San Francisco offers a warm atmosphere inside an original Barbary Coast building. Oak flooring, some private wood booths and central tables with white table cloths combine to create an extraordinary dining atmosphere. An interesting and unexpected menu with creative flair offers classic Irish and American favorites as well as innovative dishes.

Cameras and video/audio recording devices are not permitted. All non-headliner shows' lineups are subject to change.


 

Roller Rink

Fridays are always a great time to go roller skating. This is a session where kids and families skate along with anyone that's in the mode to get their skate groove on early!!! Please skate safely. All participants must please follow the direction of the rink personnel.


Skate Rental are available for $5.00, but not included with the purchase of your ticket.


NO REFUNDS!!! Attendees are NOT allowed to transfer their registration between this event and another event. Be sure you are selecting the proper date and time you want to skate.

Irish Film Festival

San Francisco Irish Film was founded in 2003, and presents the very best in contemporary Irish cinema, celebrating everything from features to documentaries to Irish language films (with English subtitles for those who didn’t spend a summer at a Gaeltacht).  The Irish are notorious for story telling, and the Irish Short film has rapidly become an art form in Ireland.  The annual film festival includes a selection of top current Irish short films in the “Short Stories – Tall Tales” program. Beeopic

After 10 years in Paris as a urban beekeeper with 300 beehives on rooftops and gardens (Notre-Dame, Grand Palais, Tour d’Argent …), I started a company with my son in the Bay Area (Walnut Creek) 5 years ago in order to pollinate local plants (almonds, apples, plums …) and produce local, raw and unfiltered honey.

East Bay Pilsners at Jupiter

Come join us for a pilsner showdown at Jupiter on Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley, CA, USA! Don't miss out on this epic battle of the East Bay's finest pilsners! The east bay is home to some of the best small breweries in the nation, and the pilsner has become a go-to style to showcase what each brewery can do with a familiar style. Wether you like hoppy west-coast pilsners, biscuit-y Czech-style pilsners, or the classic German pils, the bay has the best of the best.But on March 31st, there can only be one. After tasting all of what the East Bay has to offer, please vote on 1 beer to rule them all. Of course, this is a blind taste test! While the true beer connoiseurs might be able to recognize some of the beers, please don't spoil the fun!

You'll be entitled to one taster pour of all 8 beers available. Tasting will happen from 2pm - 3:30pm.Once you've tried all the beers, please select ONE beer that you feel truly embodies the best of what the bay has to offer and turn in your voting card under the redwood tree. Last call for voting will be 3:30 PM, although we'll walk around and make sure everyone gets a chance to vote.The winner will be announced shortly after 4, and we'll offer additional pours of that beer until it's out! The winner will also get a spot on Jupiter's beer list for the whole month of April.Happy sipping and may the best beer win!

Cheaper Than Therapy Comedy Festival

Cheaper Than Therapy offers a healthy dose of live stand-up comedy every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, year-round. Located in San Francisco's historic Shelton Theater in the heart of Union Square, Cheaper Than Therapy is convenient to get to, whether you live in the Bay Area or are just visiting.

About the show


Each show features five to six hand-picked, experienced comedians and an occasional guest drop-in.


Please arrive at the theater by 7:45pm to check in with the box office. The bar opens at 7pm, and the show starts at 8pm. Last seating is at 8:20pm.


The theater has a full bar with no drink minimum. Come early for craft drinks and great seats!

Just email us at info@cttcomedy.com let us know that you can no longer make it and want to transfer your tickets. Once you've decided on a date that works better for you, email us again at least 48 hours in advance of the show, and we'll confirm your tickets.
