Puss in Boots: The Last Wish at Thrive City

It’s movie night, and the stars are out! Thrive City invites you to B.Y.O. Blanket for the Bay Area’s biggest big screen experience. Take in a family favorite outdoors, and explore the interactive kids zone featuring games, crafts and face painting stations. Designed for audiences of all ages, Blankets & Blockbusters will include themed activations, cinema-inspired snacks and beverages, and much more.


About Puss in Boots: The Last Wish


Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll when he learns that he has burnt through eight of his nine lives. Puss sets out on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish and restore his nine lives.


Registration does not guarantee admission. Space is limited and subject to availability.

  • No trespassing when Thrive City is closed

THE COMEDY – W/ HELLAFUNNY

Each week is a new handpicked lineup of top local comics (along with some visiting special guests) who regularly perform at clubs like Cobb’s, Punch Line, shows like Crazy Funny Asians, HellaFunny Live at Thrive City or have performed at festivals like SF Sketchfest, Clusterfest or Outside Lands.

VIP “SHOUT OUT” OPTION – Want to wish someone an unforgettable happy birthday? Want one of the comics to say hi to your date? Or want to feel the burn and have a comic roast someone in your group? One of our comics will give you a special shout out from the stage. Limited to maximum of 2 per show.

THE BEER These are some of the freshest beers in San Francisco, since they come right from the Brewery’s own taps. Plus we’ll have some rare seasonal beers that are difficult to find anywhere else. (Beer choice subject to availability). The taproom opens at 3pm for those looking for a head start
  • Prohibition Ale Red Ale – American Amber / Red – 6.1% ABV 45 IBU – Prohibition strikes a perfect balance between malts and hops, with its roasted caramel notes and dry, clean finish. GABF 2013 Gold Medal Winner in the Amber/Red Ale category.

  • Blind Tiger Imperial IPA IPA – Imperial / Double – 10.3% ABV 100 IBU – Aggressively hopped with an array of West Coast hops, Blind Tiger explodes with citrus flavors of citrus peel & grapefruit. Its bold hopping carries a resinous bite and a clean, dry finish.

  • Big Daddy IPA West Coast IPA – 6.5% ABV 60 IBU – Big Daddy IPA is a balanced West Coast IPA with bright floral, piney aromas and a citrusy, crisp finish.

  • Mystic Haze IPA – New England / Hazy – 7.1% ABV – A Hazy IPA that exudes pear and red apple in the nose with a hint of grapefruit and herbal dankness. Dry hopped with Bravo and Calypso hops. Hops: Apollo, Bravo, Calypso Malt: Pilsner, Wheat, Flaked Oats, Flaked Rye.

  • Town & City IPA – Imperial / Double – 8% ABV – Ultra dank hazy west coast IPA.

  • Lady Justice German Pilsner – grain: Pilsner Malt, & Biscuit Malt – hops: Czech Saaz & Tettnager


GETTING THERE

The brewery is located at 1195 Evans Ave. in the Bayview in San Francisco. Muni is super easy, with the 15, 19, 44 and 54 all stopping close by. If you’re taking BART, then hop on thee T-Third Metro which will drop you off at Third & Evans, just a few minutes walk. Parking is typically fairly easy in this neighborhood compared to the rest of San Francisco. And uber/Lyft and taxis are always a great option.

Muni: The easiest way to Muni is to take the T Line that comes to 3rd St, transfer to the 44 bus on Evans Ave, and hop off on Keith St.

Parking: There is public street parking on Keith St and Fairfax Ave.

Stern Grove Band Shell

The 2023 lineup for the Stern Grove Festival just got released for free summer concerts in the park and it’s another stellar lineup.


Free RSVPs open for the first concert on May 18th and 2pm – you can reserve up to 4 spots. RSVPs open up one month in advance of each concert. Check Eventbrite to see when they start posting RSVP links. And we recommend acting quickly. RSVPs tend to go quickly. (or if you’re a baller and you have $1,500 or more to donate, you can reserve a table for up to 10 people)


The 86th annual festival kicks off on June 18th with Snarky Puppy and continues with Indigo Girls & Neko Case, Santigold, Lyle Lovett & His Large Band, Angélique Kidjo, the annual San Francisco Symphony concert (with special guest Lettuce), Bob Moses, blues legend Buddy Guy, Patti Smith and The Flaming Lips (with a Neon Indian DJ Set) closing out this year’s festival starring at their annual fundraiser The Big Picnic.


Reservations are required again this year with RSVPs opening 1 month in advance. Find your concert and RSVP

  • RSVPs will likely be on Eventbrite (They were in 2022 and we expect them to be in 2023 as well)

  • Reservations are required but don’t guarantee entry. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis

  • Four Reservation Limit per person

  • Senior and ADA seating is available on a first come first served basis once on site and is available for 1 senior and 1 guest

  • Children 2 yrs + require a reservation

  • Doors open at 12 noon

  • Concert starts at 2pm

  • You may bring your own food and beverages

NEW FOR 2023: All General Admission reservations are made ONLINE ONLY. This includes attendees who may use Senior, Wheelchair and ADA seating areas which are first-come, first-served once you enter the festival.


Getting There

Stern Grove Festival is held in Sigmund Stern Grove at the Corner of 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco, CA

Parking in the area is extremely limited. The use of public transportation, bicycles or ride sharing is highly recommended.


Muni

  • Take a K or M train to the St. Francis Circle stop. Walk west down Sloat one block to 19th Avenue.

  • Muni Bus: line 28-19th Avenue stop at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard.

BART

  • BART to Glen Park Station and transfer to MUNI bus 44-O’Shaughnessy to Forest Hill Station, then take the KT Muni Metro to St. Francis Circle and walk to 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard

  • BART to Daly City and transfer to MUNI bus 28-19th Avenue to stop at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard

  • BART to Balboa Station take a K train towards St. Francis Circle. Get off at the St Francis Circle stop. Walk west down Sloat one block to 19th Avenue.

  • Coming from the Peninsula or East Bay, take BART to Balboa Park and transfer to a K train towards St. Francis Circle. Get off at the St Francis Circle stop and walk west down Sloat one block to 19th Avenue.

TAXI/RIDESHARE

  • A drop-off zone is located on the westbound side of Sloat Boulevard, just past the corner of 19th Avenue & Sloat Boulevard.

BIKING

  • We have FREE BIKE VALET! Located at the main entrance to the park — 19th & Sloat Boulevard.

  • Bike valet opens at 12 noon and closes one hour after the concert ends.

  • Bikes are not allowed in the Concert Meadow or Esplanade area of Stern Grove.

At the Festival FAQ Entrances Entrances open at 12 noon, Concerts begin at 2pm. The Festival has three (3) General Admission Entrances :

  • #1. 19th & Sloat

  • #2. Vale Ave.

  • #3. 23rd & Wawona

GA Seating Areas

The Festival has three general seating areas. All areas are first-come, first served.

  • Concert Meadow

  • West Meadow

  • Hillside

BYO Picnics and Alcohol is Allowed

  • You are welcome to bring your own picnics and beverages (including alcohol).

  • Alcohol is not sold at Stern Grove Festival.

  • Food trucks are on-site on concert days.

And don’t forget to donate to the Stern Grove Festival or volunteer this year. Both are critical to help the festival continue to offer this free annual gift of music to the city.
