Happy Friday Everyone! You've worked hard all week, and now it's time to have fun! Getting out and enjoying the beautiful Bay Area, as well as enjoying the company of friends old and new, is great for your mental health. Buckminster Fuller Institute 40th Anniversary Celebration

Join us for a spectacular in-person event celebrating the 40th anniversary of Buckminster Fuller Institute! This is designed as an immersive experience and will not be live streamed or recorded.


We are thrilled to invite you to the Gray Area / Grand Theater on Mission Street in beautiful San Francisco, CA, USA.


This milestone celebration promises to be an unforgettable experience filled with inspiration, creativity, innovation, and special guests! We will celebrate forty incredible years of Buckminster Fuller Institute and the transformative work underway heading into our fifth decade!


We'll also have updates on current projects to reach 100 million life-centered designers, regenerate bioregions, center indigenous knowledge in design, transform financial systems, engage with regenerative AI, uplift and build capacity for design scientists, support large-scale ecological restoration and more.

5:45-6:15 pm:

  • Amanda Gregory Performance – "ResoVoir" - synergistic blend of neuroscience and audiovisual art in a 24-minute multisensory expedition

6:15-7:30 pm: Presentations from BFI Community, Updates, and Performances

7:30-8:30 pm: Community Connection Time

8:30-9:00 pm: Special Surprise Performance

  • Lauren Turk – singer, songwriter, climate solutionist and Compost Queen

9:00-10:00 pm: After Party: Music and Mingling with the BFI community


Sustainable local food provided by Delicious Future, a project incubated in the Design Science Studio will served throughout the evening and a cash bar will be available.


This event is designed and produced by BFI and our partners Design Science Studio and habRitual. It will feature many artists, designers, and leaders from our community!

 

Circus Bella Presents Kaleidoscope

Performed in the round in a 350-seat Circus Tent, the beauty of “Kaleidoscope” is the intimacy and immediacy of the one-ring circus. A diverse cast of 12 perform thrilling feats of balance and strength, demonstrations of grace and poise, outrageous humor and slapstick antics. Original music is performed live by our beloved 6-piece Circus Bella All-Star Band. Let yourself be dazzled and join in the celebration.


“Kaleidoscope” is the perfect show for families and children of all ages, looking for a joyous holiday event that will stay with you all season long and beyond!

Our big top Circus Tent is located at the intersection of Main and Howard Streets, at the Crossing at the East Cut in Downtown San Francisco.


The show runs 90 minutes with one 15 minute intermission.


Now, more than ever, we all need moments to sit down with each other, all together, to celebrate, reflect and LAUGH!


Ticket Info

  • Ticket prices for all guests are $55 for Standard, and $75 for Premium seats.

  • Premium seating is for the first two rows of seats - in the heart of the action!

  • Children 2 and under are free when sitting on the lap of an adult

  • All tickets are General Admission within their section (i.e. Standard and Premium)

  • Seating is first come, first served. We recommend arriving early!

  • The Box Office will be open 1 hour prior to each performance

  • All ticket sales are final


General Info

  • The tent will open to guests 30 minutes before showtime

  • There is NO SMOKING allowed in the tent

  • There are no animals allowed in the tent with the exception of licensed service animals.

  • Strollers have a dedicated parking area outside the venue and are not allowed in the tent due to fire code enforcement.

Johnny Rockitt: Embrace your inner Star Wars fanatic as this drag darling channels the Force and takes you on a journey to a galaxy far, far away.

Elise Southwick: Hang onto your seats as she soars through the air, performing jaw-dropping aerial acts that will make you believe in Christmas magic.

KaiKai Bee Michaels - Step into the dark side of the holidays as KaiKai Bee Michaels embodies Krampus in a drag performance that's both naughty and nice.

A Stunning Cast of Darling Misfits: Our eclectic cast will keep you entertained and laughing all night long, ensuring your holiday season is filled with unforgettable memories.

Rock 'n Roll Variety Show: "A Very Merry Misfit Cabaret" combines the best of rock and roll with a dash of variety show flair, creating the perfect night out to give you that fuzzy, ugly sweater feeling.

Original Music by Kat Robichaud: Groove to the holiday beats with original music by the talented Kat Robichaud, including "The Gremlin Song," "The Star Wars Holiday Special," "Cheer Up, It's Christmas," and many more.
