When we think about applying for jobs, typically the first thought that comes to mind is our resume. Is it updated? Is it professional? Will it attract my future employer? There are many factors that come to mind for resumes. And as of the 21st century, there’s an app for it. LinkedIn. LinkedIn has allowed its’ users to completely digitize their resumes and turn it into a profile. This profile is can help get your foot in the door with potential employers. Potential recruiters and employers will be able to see your profile and gauge how well they think you will do working with them. So, here are a few tips to make your LinkedIn profile stand out.


  • The first step is getting a professional profile picture. Profile pictures provide a professional yet personal touch for your profile. Appropriate attire and lighting is the key to leaving a great first impression

  • Second is adding your location and industry. Adding these parameters help employers near you and in your industry have access to your LinkedIn for potential outreach

  • Last is proving a summary. A summary on your LinkedIn page gives employers a brief glance at who you are in your own words. Including skills, accomplishments, and a personal touch such as hobbies is a great start.
