Are you a few weeks or even months into a job search and find yourself struggling to get motivated and energized? Do you wish that you could rediscover the enthusiasm you had when you launched your job search?

Realistically, it is not uncommon to lose energy and focus. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the average job search can be lengthy - meaning you need to find some ways to sustain your energy and enthusiasm for the long haul.

When you’re under stress, taking care of yourself is essential. You can’t put forth your best effort when you’re feeling fatigued or run-down.

Here are some natural ways to increase energy and mental clarity when you are starting your day:

  1. Drink water: Start your day with a glass of water to hydrate your body and brain.

  2. Eat a nutritious breakfast: Choose foods that are rich in protein and complex carbohydrates to provide sustained energy throughout the day.

  3. Get moving: Even a few minutes of exercise, such as stretching or a short walk, can help increase blood flow and oxygen to the brain, boosting energy and mental clarity.

  4. Take deep breaths: Deep breathing can help reduce stress and anxiety, and increase oxygen levels in the body.

  5. Get some sunlight: Exposure to natural light in the morning can help regulate your body's internal clock and improve mood and energy levels.

  6. Limit caffeine intake: While caffeine can provide a short-term energy boost, consuming too much can lead to jitteriness and a crash later on in the day.

  7. Practice mindfulness or meditation: Taking a few minutes to clear your mind and focus on the present moment can help improve mental clarity and reduce stress.

  8. Prioritize sleep: Getting adequate sleep is crucial for overall health and well-being, and can help increase energy and mental clarity in the morning.
